Objectives of the QA Division
The principle objective of QA division is to assist in the quality and accreditation process of all the USM engineering academic programs in complying with the global standards of the International Engineering Alliance - Washington Accord (IEA-WA) and the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC).
The Engineering Programs in USM requires an official recognition by EAC and Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) every four years. This accreditation is the provision that enable the engineering students to register as BEM graduate member upon graduation and leading to their Registered Professional Engineer carrier after several years. The accreditation exercise is the contributing factor to the Engineering School in their Continual Quality Improvement (CQI).
Overall Objectives of the QA Division, Engineering Campus includes:
- Coordinating the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in achieving and attaining the Program Educational Objectives (PEO) and Program Outcomes (PO) for all engineering programs.
- Organizing academic courses, seminars and workshops to improve the knowledge and understanding of staff at the Engineering Campus pertaining to OBE.
- Collection and management of information required for the engineering accreditation process for all Engineering Programs.
- Planning and executing questionnaire surveys and analysis periodically to the stakeholders for the purpose of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
